Mega Man fans rejoice! Developer, Capcom, is set to help produce new SNES cartridges for Mega Man 2 and Mega Man X. The creators of this hit series have teamed up with iam8bit to make a limited run of cartridges for these two games. They are priced at $100 each and are, at the time of writing, still available for purchase. Those interested can purchase them here.
This is an attempt to help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the blue bomber. Capcom has also announced that a new installment to the franchise is coming soon. Mega Man 11 is slated for a late 2018 release for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. This is the first Mega Man game to be released since 2010.
For fans that need to scratch that Mega Man itch, there is still the Mega Man Legacy Collections 1 + 2. These are currently available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. However, the Nintendo Switch is to receive this combo pack on May 22. Pre-orders are currently available at all major retailers and will cost $39.99. It is clear that Capcom has not forgotten about their hit series. Even though the series had remained dormant for some time, it appears that it is back and here to stay.
