Nintendo has announced a pair of new Pokemon games for the Nintendo Switch, Pokemon, Let’s Go! Pikachu and Pokemon, Let’s Go! Eevee! Better yet, the game is being released this November. This iteration of the franchise is not the eighth generation, but takes place in the beloved Kanto region, taking the series back to its roots. One could say it’s a quasi-remake of Pokemon Yellow from the Game Boy Color. Nintendo released a trailer and a synopsis for the game.

Taking place in the diverse and vibrant Kanto region, this new pair of games is packed with adventure for Pokémon Trainers of all ages. In the Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! games, you will partner up with either Pikachu or Eevee and embark on an exciting adventure where you’ll catch and battle Pokémon, meet other Trainers and discover the region of Kanto. Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch on Nov. 16, 2018.

Nintendo Announces Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu

This vindicates Emily Rogers, who stated that a Pokemon game would be coming out this holiday season for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo is also releasing the Poke Ball Plus, which acts like a real-life Poke Ball which you can use to catch Pokemon with the flick of your wrist, rather than using the Joy-Con! You can also move, battle, and navigate menus within the game. Not only that, but you can bring your Poke Ball with you and your Pokemon wherever you go! You can also transfer your Pokemon from Pokemon GO to the Pokemon, Let’s Go! titles, bridging the gap between console and mobile device.

If Nintendo and Game Freak’s track record is anything to go by, Pokemon, Let’s Go! Pikachu and Pokemon, Let’s Go! Eevee will be massive successes and is a game changer for the Nintendo Switch this holiday season.
