Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 have just been announced for release on PlayStation 4. Japan’s weekly Famitsu magazine released the information regarding the upcoming games. All three games will see their remasters starting later this year.

Beginning in August, Yakuza 3 is set to be released. Yakuza 4 is planned for fall 2018 with Yakuza 5 in spring 2019. There are currently no plans to bring the remasters over to Western audiences at this time. The remasters will be Japan exclusive for the time being.

Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 Remasters

The Yakuza series has grown in popularity with Western audiences. Yakuza Kiwami, a remake of the original PlayStation 2 game, and Yakuza 0, a prequel to the series, have helped expose more gamers to this series. Yakuza Kiwami 2a remake to the second installment of the franchise, is set to release in August for the west.

The franchise follows Kazuma Kiryu and his life within the Yakuza. The gameplay is an open-world beat em up where the player can complete a variety of substories as well as the main story. The game was created to portray the way of life of a member of the Yakuza.

Gamers will now have the opportunity to play the entire franchise on one console. Since the PlayStation 4 does not offer backward compatibility, this is a great alternative.
