Tom Holland has come out and flat-out denied recent rumors that have been running rampant online about Spider-Man 3. Holland stated that, as to his knowledge, Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will not be returning to the Spider-Man franchise as has been rumored and speculated online. Garfield was reportedly spotted in Atlanta this month, where the third installment in Holland’s Spider-Man series is filming. The inclusion of Jamie Foxx, who played Electro in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and Alfred Molina, who played Doc Ock in Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 2 merely adds fuel to the fire. Holland has had a history of accidental slip-ups, spoiling the Marvel films before their release, so it would make sense that he would deny any rumors to cover up any potential surprises for the film. That being said, these are still rumors at this point and should be treated as such.

No, no, they will not be appearing in this film. Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no. It’ll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we’ve been making.”

Spider-Man 3 will be released on December 17, 2021, if everything goes according to plan.
