Pokemon 25th anniversary presentation has been announced by The Pokemon Company. It will be roughly 20 minutes long and will air on February 26 at 7am PT/10am ET. As the exact anniversary of Pokemon’s 25th is February 27, and it will be airing at midnight on the 27 in Japan, this is very apt. There have been rumors for a while that a Diamond and Pearl remake would be announced for Pokemon’s 25th anniversary, and The Pokemon Company did say there would be announcements about the franchise throughout the week. Speculation has run rampant, but it appears the rumors were correct in that there would be a major announcement for the franchise this week, and that it would come straight from The Pokemon Company instead of Nintendo’s Direct last week. The Sinnoh region is beloved by all who played Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, and if any games deserve a remake (other than Gold and Silver, though those already got one on the DS), it’s Pokemon Diamond and Pearl. The set of games thrust the Pokemon franchise onto the Nintendo DS and have helped inform everything that the franchise has become today. To see those games in 3D glory, compatible with Pokemon Sword and Shield, which are two of the best entries the franchise has ever seen, will be marvelous. You can tune into the stream below when it begins.
