Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was one of the best games to come out on the Wii U. Not only that, it was one of the most difficult 2D platformers to come out in years. It’s only fitting that the game is coming out on the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo’s hit console which is just over a year old. Regardless of the other ports coming to the system, this game truly deserves it.  Today, Nintendo released a gameplay trailer for their upcoming port, which releases one month from now on May 4. As an addition, the game includes Crazy Kong for additional gameplay craziness.

As one who didn’t get the chance to play this on the Wii U (despite owning one, and I still do), I am ecstatic that the game is coming to Switch. It also gives so many Switch owners who never got the chance to play this masterpiece the chance to experience it. For years gamers complained that Nintendo games were too easy, but I can assure you, this game is a true challenge. The trailer itself showcases the game’s gameplay, Crazy Kong included, and looks to be the best of the Donkey Kong games. No less would be expected from Retro Studios.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze releases on the Nintendo Switch on May 4, so tighten your seatbelts, as this game is sure to take you on an unforgettable ride.
