Nintendo has announced Project Triangle Strategy in their latest Direct, by Square Enix, continuing their partnership with the company in bringing high-quality RPGs to the Nintendo SwitchBravely Default II is coming out on February 26, and Project Triangle Strategy has the same 2D-HD look as Octopath Traveler, almost as if it is its spiritual successor. Project Triangle Strategy is a tactical RPG where choices are paramount. The trailer hints that you can take one of three paths, similar to that of Shin Megami Tensei (which I thought this was initially.) The game looks fantastic from a visual standpoint and the 2D high-definition suits it nicely. Square Enix is really going all-out with RPGs on the Nintendo Switch, and it has become the system for RPGs of this generation. With Bravely Default II coming up, Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive EditionXenoblade Chronicles 2Octopath Traveler, a number of Final Fantasy remasters, a numerous other titles, some of them from Square Enix, Project Triangle Strategy couldn’t have found a nicer home. We’re going to do a preview of the demo later on, but the partnership between Nintendo and Square Enix has worked out nicely, especially given their history. They may have left on bad terms, but their bond has never been stronger.
