Ocarina of Time has been remastered in high-definition, this time by YouTuber Brian Tate. He used the 60 FPS emulator Citra and also the 4K texture pack by Citra and Henriko. This is one of the best Ocarina of Time HD videos we have seen and takes place in Kokiri Forest, Hyrule Field, Lon Lon Ranch, and Hyrule Castle Town. What’s more important is this video shows actual gameplay. You can see the full video for yourself below.
With rumors swirling that Nintendo is putting together an HD remake of Ocarina of Time for Nintendo’s 35th anniversary, and its trademark recently renewed, anything short of this will be a massive disappointment. Nintendo has been busy with trademarks and Grezzo seems to be recruiting to make a Zelda game. They specialize in remasters from the series, working on all of the Nintendo 3DS Zelda games. What does Nintendo have up their sleeves for Zelda’s 35th anniversary? Will they take the Mario route, or do something completely different? Only time will tell, but all signs point to a 35th-anniversary compilation, at the very least. Nintendo has always gone all-out for Zelda’s anniversaries, with a full-blown concert to celebrate its 25th and a brand new Zelda game in Skyward Sword. Will they continue this tradition with a compilation of remasters on the Switch, as well as the release of Breath of the Wild 2?
Regardless, suffice to say, this HD remaster of Ocarina of Time is breathtaking and one of the best we’ve seen.
