MAPPA Studio has released a special drawing of Sasha Blouse for Attack on Titan in commemoration of the character. Sasha saw her end in Sunday’s episode of the Final Season, “Assassin’s Bullet”, at the hands of Gabi. The character was trending on Twitter and spoiled fans who hadn’t seen the episode yet, though it showed just how beloved the original character was. She was a part of the 104th Cadet group with Eren, Armin, Mikasa, Jean, and Connie. She was an OG character and her loss shows that no character in the series is safe. It also demonstrated how Hajime Isayama continues to subvert expectations, though in a way that’s carefully thought out and makes sense storytelling-wise. Sasha was supposedly supposed to die in season two, so the character was on borrowed time to begin with. Sasha became a total badass in the four years between seasons, becoming a master sniper. She displayed her skills in the Battle of Marley and allowed Jean to take out the Cart Titan. Now, Gabi has quickly become the most hated character in Attack on Titan.

Sasha attack on titan

What other major characters will die over the course of Attack on Titan? At this point, it’s anyone’s guess, but Sasha’s presence will continue to be felt. If the preview for next week is any indication, Sasha will continue to be present in Attack on Titan via flashbacks, which will be a constant reminder of how the show broke our hearts in “Assassin’s Bullet.” I dislike Floch, but he had the right idea: throw Gabi out of the airship.

Attack on Titan airs on Sundays and is simulcast on Crunchyroll, VRV, and Funimation.
