Daisy Ridley has gone on the record and stated that she was misquoted by Rolling Stone when she said that she would not do Star Wars after Episode IX. What she was really referring to was her contract with Disney and that it was through three films. It is common for actors to extend their contracts or renew them.

“That was end of a very long day, at the end of a very long shoot. It was pouring down rain in Montreal. We were talking about where the trilogy was going and, all I said was as far as I was concerned, when I signed on, I was signing onto seven, eight and nine.”

She also spoke to the Associated Press regarding this.

“When I did sign up I did sign up for three films, And that’s where I sort of saw the story ending, JJ said the same thing. I think everyone has perhaps taken that as me going, ‘I don’t want anything to do with it’ which is vastly untrue because this is awesome.”

It’s lovely to hear that Daisy has had such a wonderful time playing Rey and is really loving it. It’s even better to hear that she would be open to the possibility of being involved in future films. The Episode IX script has not been given to the actors yet, so we don’t even know Rey’s fate. Hopefully, Daisy survives, as she’s a fantastic actress.
