Bandai Namco has gone on the record and has stated that they are not opposed to developing a Pokken Tournament DX sequel. In fact, they’d love to do one. The decision, however, is up to Nintendo, not Bandai Namco. Pokken Tournament was originally an arcade game. It was then brought to the Nintendo Wii U, and eventually, a sequel, Pokken Tournament DX, made its rounds to the Nintendo Switch. Katsuhiro Harada is a longtime producer for Bandai Namco and has stated on Twitter that not only does the company have a great working relationship with Nintendo, but also Pokemon Co. Ltd., the decision is not up to them. He had a great time working on the Pokken franchise and would love to do so again, but it’s out of his hands. He did state though that the game had a great response, so it is possible that Nintendo will go ahead with a sequel, especially considering the fantastic job Bandai Namco has done on games such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, another fighting game.

Given the response and success of the Pokken Tournament franchise, it is possible that a sequel is made. It’s just not in development at this time, although it would be a fantastic way to celebrate Pokemon’s 25th anniversary. Who knows though; the future is unknown at this point, and we have no indication of what Nintendo’s plans are for the future.
