Attack on Titan: The Final Season has been fantastic, yet at the same time, somewhat divisive. Some fans are not happy that MAPPA studio has taken over from Wit, and some have gone as far as harassing MAPPA staff. Despite this fact though, Attack on Titan’s final season is dominating the IMDB charts for best episode. Within the top 20, three of the top 20 episodes are from the Attack on Titan Final Season, with one attaining a perfect 10 rating and the rest attaining a 9.9 rating. For comparison’s sake, only two other Attack on Titan episodes are in the top 20, “Hero” and “Perfect Game”, from the third season of Attack on Titan. This means that three of seven of the episodes of Attack on Titan’s final season are rated in the top 20 episodes of all-time among television shows, but just two episodes from the first three seasons are ranked in the top 20. This is an incredible feat, especially considering some of the backlash this season has gotten. It goes to show you that the internet, most importantly Twitter, is not real life. “Assault” comes in at number three, “The War Hammer Titan” at number 19, and “Declaration of War” at number 20. The episodes are in good company too, with episodes from Breaking BadGame of Thrones, and Mr. Robot all in the top 20 as well. Perhaps Attack on Titan: The Final Season is receiving a better reception than we are lead to believe. The next episode, “Assassin’s Bullet”, is set to air this Sunday.
