One of Nintendo’s biggest surprises during their E3 2021 Direct was the announcement of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. The game will consist of more than 300 “lovingly re-created levels and mazes.” Here is how Nintendo explains it, straight from their official website.

“More than 300 lovingly re-created levels and mazes, 12 fun minigames and a delightful cast of characters make their return to the wondrous worlds of Super Monkey Ball in this remaster of the iconic original three Super Monkey Ball games – perfectly timed with the 20th anniversary of the beloved series. Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania launches for Nintendo Switch on Oct. 5.”

This is so exciting! One of the first games to be released on the Nintendo Wii was Super Monkey Ball, and it was a blast. The Nintendo Switch is receiving yet another party game, which is perfect for parties and get-togethers. Especially Super Monkey Ball, which has a track record for excellence. With the superior motion control in the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, this is sure to be an incredibly fun game. The only downside I can see is that Joy-Cons are expensive, and if you want a real party, you may need to shell out a bit of cash to have a true get-together/party. That’s beside the point though. This may not have been one of Nintendo’s premiere announcements, but it was a wonderful surprise nonetheless.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania releases for the Nintendo Switch on October 5.
