According to game director Mac Walters, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be censored. This is surprising, considering Mass Effect is a rated M game, and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be the definitive version of the trilogy. This comes straight from the words of director Mac Walters.

“Kevin (character and environment director Kevin Meek) actually called out some camera cuts that were just… why was that focusing on Miranda’s butt? So in some cases we said, ‘Okay, we can make a change there’. But ultimately, to change an entire character model or something like that wasn’t really… it was a decision that was made as part of many creative decisions and just showing it at the best possible fidelity that we could going forward is really the choice for all of the art that we had.”

My love interest was Miranda, and I personally crush on Yvonne Strahovski, so I have no problem with her “butt” shots. They are so far and few between. It’s odd that the developers fixated on this so much to the point where they felt the need to remove it from the game and censor the Legendary Edition. It won’t take away from the experience of the game, but in a day and age where censorship is rampant, it is disappointing that Mass Effect: Legendary Edition will be censored.
