The latest update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, version 6.1.0, is imminent. No release date has been revealed (although it’s coming in the next few days), but we do know what the update will entail. After the update has been installed, prior video replays that were saved will no longer be watchable. In order to make sure they are still watchable, players will need to convert them to video. To do this, visit the vault, go into replays and then replay data, and then select convert to video. While this isn’t the only change in update 6.1.0, with more details coming upon release, it is the most important.

Watching replays of previous matches is one of the most enjoyable aspects of Super Smash Bros. It’s a wonderful way to re-live some of your most storied moments and successes. With this update, many will lose their replays, so it is important to inform players of the possibility that they’ll lose these precious moments. I know I have my share that I will convert, as they are some of my most storied accomplishments in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With the update coming in mere days, it will be interesting to see what other changes they make to the game. Regardless, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will continue its legacy as the best entry in the Smash series, and one of the best games for the Nintendo Switch.
