It looks like Dark Souls Remastered is getting delayed for the Nintendo Switch. Bandai Namco UK has announced on Twitter that this version of the game will be delayed to Summer 2018. This delay will also affect the upcoming Solaire of Astora amiibo. The PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One versions of the game remain unchanged and will still release as scheduled on May 25, 2018.

It is unknown at this time what has caused this delay. Speculation suggests that there are still bug fixes as well as a possible cartridge shortage. The game is in high demand for the system and the amiibo is no exception. The Solaire of Astora amiibo will be a Gamestop exclusive. Online pre-orders have been a nightmare for collectors. The figure is $3 higher than the average and buyers are expected to pay for the shipping costs. Hopefully, this delay will help create more product to limit scalping and to satisfy the demand.

The upcoming remaster is set to include the main game as well as its DLC, Artorias of the Abyss. There will also be a six-player online experience involved with the game. The Nintendo Switch has fared well with ports of Skyrim and Doom, so this most likely will not be the exception.
