There is a brand new Star Wars international trailer from China that has just been released. The film doesn’t open in China until January 5, but the trailer itself is quite interesting. While it doesn’t have a lot of new footage, it does feature a recap of The Force Awakens. These scenes focus on Kylo Ren, Supreme Leader Snoke, and Rey, with Snoke telling Ren, “Bring her to me”.
The Last Jedi footage isn’t much we haven’t seen before. The inclusion of The Force Awakens footage makes it much more powerful though. It’s missing some things from the United States theatrical trailer, but China, nay the world, is in for a treat. Mark Hamill is calling this the best Star Wars film since The Empire Strikes Back. Rian Johnson is a top-notch director. I personally cannot wait to see where he takes the franchise, considering I was a little disappointed with re-hash which was The Force Awakens (though the new characters introduced were fantastic).
My one wish is that Princess Leia reunites with Luke on-screen one last time. Her passing was absolutely tragic, and it would be a shame if one of the greatest brother-sister combos don’t come together one last time.
The Last Jedi opens in theaters in the United States on December 15. 11 days left!
