The Last Jedi runtime has been revealed, and if this is to be believed, it will be the longest-running Star Wars film to date. While Cinemax has removed the runtime from their site, AMC Theaters, Cineplex, and Fandango still list 150 minutes as the runtime. Here are the other seven Star Wars films with their runtimes.
- A New Hope: 121 minutes
- The Empire Strikes Back: 124 minutes
- Return of the Jedi: 133 minutes
- The Phantom Menace: 133 minutes
- Attack of the Clones: 142 minutes
- Revenge of the Sith: 140 minutes
- The Force Awakens: 135 minutes
The Last Jedi has a lot of plot lines to cover, so it’s not surprising that Rian Johnson’s space epic is going to be longer than any other Star Wars film. From Luke’s training of Rey, to the eventual showdown with Kylo Ren/Ben and even Snoke himself, and a (hopefull) reunion between Luke and Leia is going to take time. Rian Johnson has a proven track record and fans will gladly sit through a 150-minute film if it’s going to mean that they are going to get the eventual payoff that they’re promised. I personally cannot wait for this film, and I think that the fact that the plot has been kept so under wraps makes it all the more exciting. For every other modern-day Star Wars film, plot leaks had already surfaced. Disney has kept a tight lid on all of this and thankfully, this hasn’t happened.
