Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is one of the best RPGs on the Nintendo Switch and my personal favorite game on the system. Following the announcement that Pyra and Mythra are appearing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the game has sold out in Japan. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is finally getting a character in Smash, which is the ultimate sign of respect for the game, as Sakurai is a huge fan of the game, but for the game to completely sell out in Japan after the Smash Bros. Ultimate announcement s very significant. The game is over three years old. It’s a fantastic tale with excellent gameplay, music, story, and is very touching. The Switch is killing it in Japan, and it is hard enough to find the game in the United States and pay the retail price for it. eBay is littered with listings for $70-plus for a sealed copy, and Amazon doesn’t carry it directly. The fact that it’s sold out in Japan shows you the power of the Xenoblade brand. The series gets better and better with each entry, and the fact that someone besides Shulk has joined the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate rank is wonderful. Hopefully, the game’s stage and music live up to Xenoblade Chronicles’, because if it doesn’t it would be a pity. Mythra and Pyra are perfect for Smash and it’s great that fans are taking a liking to their addition in Japan.
