There has been a huge resurgence for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 since Pyra and Mythra were announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Many people are trying the game for the very first time, and in Japan, the game has sold out. Over the last few days, Masahiro Sakurai, the mastermind behind the Super Smash Bros.franchise and all-around video game god has posted some new screenshots of the pair in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. As a Xenoblade fan, I couldn’t be more excited for the pair to be in Smash Ultimate. Sakurai has stated that he’s a huge fan of the game, so it was only a matter of time before Smash got a Xenoblade 2 character. It seems that currently, in the gaming industry, your game receiving a playable character in Smash is the ultimate honor. It’s very exciting for Xenoblade fans, especially those who have poured countless hours into the game as I have, to have to of my favorite video game characters appear in the greatest fighting game, and franchise, of all-time. Super Smash Bros. is the ultimate benchmark. The great thing about this announcement as well is that there haven’t been any complaints from fans; the general consensus seems to be that these characters truly deserved to be there. With that being said, here are the said screenshots.

No word on when Pyra and Mythra will hit Smash Ultimate, but hopefully it’s soon.
