Hyrule Historia, the Legend of Zelda compendium, is finally receiving a digital release this April. The hardcover version originally came out on January 29, 2013 and was the first time the Zelda timeline was revealed. It also contained a prequel manga to Skyward Sword and a ton of concept art for the series. It was not originally slated to come out in the West, but the demand was so high that Nintendo gave it a Western release.

Dark Horse Books and Nintendo team up to bring you The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, containing an unparalleled collection of historical information on The Legend of Zeldafranchise. This handsome hardcover contains never-before-seen concept art, the full history of Hyrule, the official chronology of the games, and much more! Starting with an insightful introduction by the legendary producer and video-game designer of Donkey Kong, Mario, and The Legend of Zelda, Shigeru Miyamoto, this book is crammed full of information about the storied history of Link’s adventures from the creators themselves! As a bonus, The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia includes an exclusive comic by the foremost creator of The Legend of Zelda manga — Akira Himekawa!

The digital version of the classic encyclopedia will cost $19.99 and is a great option for those that don’t yet own the compendium and enjoy reading on the go. It’s also much more economical than the $39.99 MSRP of the hardback version.

It just goes to show you, The Legend of Zelda is more popular than ever. It will be interesting to see if there are any additions made to the book.
