Xbox’s E3 2021 showcase started off in a huge way. Bethesda’s Todd Howard kicked off the presentation to unveil the upcoming, Starfield. The highly anticipated title from Bethesda Game Studios is the first new IP in 25 years and is launching on November 11, 2022. The official trailer can be viewed below:

Starfield is set to be an expansive open-world RPG that will utilize Bethesda’s brand-new Creation Engine 2 allowing players to experience a new next-gen experience. Set hundreds of years in the future, users are able to explore the stars to their heart’s content. The game’s synopsis is as follows:

“In this next generation role-playing game set amongst the stars, create any character you want and explore with unparalleled freedom. Harnessing the power of next-gen technology and built on the all-new Creation Engine 2, Starfield takes you on a journey through space as you strive to answer humanity’s greatest mystery.”

The biggest surprise out of this announcement, however, was the unveiling of its exclusivity. Starfield will not appear on PlayStation systems. This is fully an Xbox exclusive that is also planned to launch day one on Game Pass for the Xbox Series S|X and PC. It should not come as a huge shocker, though, as Microsoft had previously acquired Bethesda for a whopping $7.5 billion late last year.
