The Rise of Skywalker runtime has been revealed, allegedly, and it will clock in at roughly 155 minutes. While this isn’t a final number, as the film is still going through last-minute edits, it will be the longest film in the Skywalker Saga, as we reported months ago. The runtime comes from movie theater’s scheduled showings of the film, which have just popped up, citing the film hitting the 155-minute mark. From what we’ve heard, this could fluctuate by a few minutes give-or-take, but it will take the cake as the longest film in the Star Wars Saga.

What does this mean for the film though? Well, from what we do know, it’s an adventure story, with the characters finally all together again (ala A New Hope), with a much darker tone. Every Star Wars film drags to an extent, but, this could help tell a massive story and fill in the gaps that were missing in The Last Jedi. IF the film is structured like Revenge of the Sith, with a frighteningly fast pace and intriguing plot, there’s nothing to worry about. Some wanted a three-hour Star Wars film, like Avengers Endgame, but Star Wars isn’t the MCU – it’s better than that, and Endgame put me to sleep, if I’m honest. It’s even being said that eight different endings have been tested for audiences!

JJ Abrams seems hellbent on making sure The Rise of Skywalker will live up to not only the expectations of fans, but to the legacy of the saga as well. We hope it does!

We’ll find out when The Rise of Skywalker premiere’s in two months on December 20.
