From Software’s hit action-RPG, Dark Souls Remastered has just received a release date for the Nintendo Switch. The developer took to Twitter to announce that October 19 marks the official launch for the highly anticipated port. An online Network Test is also planned to release before the game’s release.

Along with the game’s launch, the Solaire of Astora amiibo will be made available. This amiibo is a Gamestop exclusive and retails at $15.99. It was first revealed during a Nintendo Direct stream back in March. Pre-orders for this item have been made available on the retailer’s website, however, they have been quickly selling out.
Previously, Dark Souls Remastered was originally planned to release alongside the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions in May. Bandai Namco later stated that the Switch version was delayed for a Summer launch. The new October release date is the first bit of information gamers have received since the delay.
The Soulsborne franchise originally began with Demon’s Souls exclusively on the PlayStation 3. Since then, there have been three Dark Souls titles along with Bloodborne on the PlayStation 4. Other titles, such as Nioh, have been influenced by the popular style of gameplay.
Series developer From Software is currently working on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice which was first announced during the Game Awards 2017. A gameplay trailer was later shown off during Xbox’s E3 2018 conference.
