There is a rumor circulating that Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes are coming to the Nintendo Switch, and they will be revealed next month. February 27 just so happens to be Pokemon day – the 25th anniversary of the series. There is word that there will be a Pokemon direct next month in commemoration of the 25th anniversary and with it, an announcement that remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are in development and coming to the Nintendo Switch. A Spanish website, Centro Pokemon, is one of a few sources that back up these claims.

Pokémon Center can confirm that, according to sources close to the company, remakes of Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl , originally released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS, are in development for the Nintendo Switch.”

Pokemon insider, Kelios, also corroborated these claims on his Twitter, though his tweets are now protected. He is the webmaster of Pokekalos. According to claims, these games will not be in the style of Pokemon: Let’s Go!, but in the same vein as the original Nintendo DS versions. Pokemon Diamond and Pearl are two of the most beloved Pokemon games, and if any Pokemon game, outside of Silver and Gold deserves a remake, it’s these two.

Hopefully we get an announcement soon, if this is indeed true.
