This past Friday, the team over at Spike Chunsoft unboxed the Japanese version of Steins;Gate Elite for the PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch. They were released earlier this year, as the American release date was pushed back to February 19 of next year. While the two share many of the same items, there are items in the Japanese set not available in the American release and vice versa.

The set looks fantastic and is a must-have for any diehard Steins;Gate fan (such as myself hehe). The set will include a “Limited Edition Exclusive Content: 100+ pg Hardcover Art Book, Cloth Poster, Game, STEINS;GATE: Linear Bounded Phenogram or 8-BIT ADV STEINS;GATE (Nintendo Switch).” We previewed the game at Anime Expo 2018 and the title has been completely revamped and has received new animated scenarios. Steins;Gate was voted as the top adventure title of all time in Famitsu and Elite should be the defining version of Okabe Rintarou’s time traveling adventures. All in all, the more I see, the more excited I get.

The game was originally slated to come out in 2018 in North America, but the release date got pushed back. February 19 cannot come soon enough.

Steins;Gate Elite is coming out for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Steam. It will be interesting to see if Steins;Gate 0 receives a similar treatment!
