Nintendo announced that they will have a Pokemon direct on June 5, 2019, right ahead of E3. The direct will feature 15 minutes worth of new information about the newest entries in the Pokemon franchise for the Nintendo Switch, Pokemon Sword and Shield. It is unknown as to whether the games will be shown at E3 2019, but, it is likely, given the fact that their predecessors on the Nintendo Switch were present last year and playable.

The Pokemon direct will be streamed on June 5 at 6am PDT/9am EDT. This will be a great opportunity to learn about the titles, which have been shrouded in mystery since their initial announcement at E3 2017. While Pokemon Let’s Go! Eevee and Pikachu were met with mixed reactions from fans and critics alike, many are hopeful that this new iteration of Pokemon takes the franchise in a bold, new direction. This has yet to be seen though. We did get a glimpse of the title, along with the three new starters, when the game was announced late last February. Fans have been clamoring for the next generation of Pokemon and the Direct is sure to give us more details just in time for E3.
Pokemon Sword and Shield is slated for a late 2019 release date, presumably just in time for the holidays.
