Nintendo Has Announced The Nintendo Switch

Nintendo has announced the Nintendo Switch, their brand new home console, via a short teaser trailer today. The release window is still March 2017, though no specific date was given. One thing that makes the Nintendo Switch so unique is that it is portable. You can take it on the bus, on an airplane, and even play it on a long car trip. It is also visible in the trailer that the system will use cartridges, as previously rumored.

The Nintendo Switch itself rests in a dock, which connects to your TV. You can remove the Nintendo Switch, which is like a high-definition tablet, from the dock and attach Joy-Con controllers to it. You can also play with the more traditional Joy-Con grip accessory, or purchase the Nintendo Switch pro controller. The Nintendo Switch is so multifaceted which may be the most impressive thing about it. There are already a number of third-party developers on board praising the system. Whether this translates to third-party support is up to debate. Skyrim was shown during the Nintendo Switch trailer though, which would be huge for the system.

In fact, we got a number of quick glimpses of titles for the Nintendo Switch. We will delve into this later, but if these games are potential launch titles for the Switch, Nintendo may be back on track.
