Ubisoft’s upcoming game, Far Cry New Dawn, has just gone gold. Lead programmer, Raphael Parent, shared on Twitter the latest news. For those unfamiliar with the term “going gold,” it means the game is finished with development and is ready to ship. The game is still on track to ship and is going to hit store shelves without delays on February 15.
@FarCrygame New Dawn is Gold! Very proud of this game! Hope you enjoy playing it as much as we had fun making it!

Far Cry New Dawn takes place 17 years after the events of Far Cry 5. Fans can expect the same map to be used along with some cosmetic changes. New items and characters are going to be introduced to explore the world. The game was announced during the 2018 Game Awards, while also being teased a few days leading up to the full reveal.
Creative Director, Jean-Sebastien Decant, has stated that this won’t be a simple re-hash of already used textures. The game is planned to include “light RPG” elements that players can mess around with. One of these is an ability to craft guns with higher ranks. This feature will help fight against tougher enemies that you’ll come in contact with. Another new aspect of gameplay is an “escalation system.” Outposts that have been previously taken over can be completely depleted or it can be “squeezed out.” This means that enemies are able to return and restock its supplies, making a tougher challenge for the player.
Far Cry New Dawn is available on February 19 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
