The Last Jedi is by far the worst of the Star Wars films. It destroyed the character of Luke Skywalker, it pushed a political agenda and tried to tell people how to think, the plot made no sense, and it ignored everything The Force Awakens built upon. The only one with the gall to speak up about this is Mark Hamill. Although he comes short of calling it a horrible film, he can’t stop talking about his disdain for the film, something that the majority of fans feel. In his latest interview, Hamill had no qualms about expressing his dismay about how he and the core cast of the Original Trilogy were treated. He expresses this explicitly.

I just thought, Luke’s never going to see his best friend again. You look at it in a self-centred way. I said that it was a big mistake that those three people would never reunite in any way. I guess I was wrong, because nobody seems to care! I have to stipulate that I care, but it didn’t really seem to affect the larger audience. Luke, Han and Leia will never be together again, and I’ll probably never get to work with Harrison again. Then the second thing was that they killed me off. I thought: oh, okay, you should push my death off to the last one. That’s what I was hoping when I came back: no cameos and a run-of-the-trilogy contract. Did I get any of those things? Because as far as I’m concerned, the end of VII is really the beginning of VIII. I got one movie! They totally hornswoggled (tricked) me.”

He felt tricked! On top of all the other quotes out there, such as Luke’s characterization, he was essentially tricked and only got one film which he wasn’t in the center of! The one thing about Mark Hamill is he cannot keep his mouth shut. Harrison was the one who convinced Mark to come back, and they never even got to work together. It’s a travesty. On top of that, The Last Jedi completely ignored The Force Awakens. All the character development was gone. This video says it all with regards to Mark’s feelings on the Sequel Trilogy.

Mark: We care. We care so much. This is Mark’s life’s work and Rian Johnson ruined his character simply to divide the audience. He’s already been quoted as saying that his goal is to make a movie that half the audience hates. Hamill was completely disrespected and Rian Johnson has destroyed the Sequel Trilogy.

George Lucas is the only one who could fix this travesty. And rumor has it, he may be coming back to fix this mess.
