ERASED, the absolute best anime series of 2016, is coming to live-action format. Powerhouse Netflix is actually adapting it, which has had a positive impact on the anime industry. ERASED is the story of Satoru Fujinuma as he unravels a mystery that encompasses the future and the past — including his own ability to time travel. It’s a beautiful, touching story so it will be very interesting to see if Netflix truly does the series justice. Given that it seems to be a Japanese production, rather than Death Note (although with all due credit, there were already two Japanese Death Note films before Netflix made their own), which was an American production based on a renowned Japanese anime series. The cast of the film is as follows: Reo Uchikawa as Satoru Fujinuma (child) Mio Yūki (Death Note, Assassination Classroom, As the Gods Will) as Airi Katagiri Rinka Kakihara as Kayo Hinazuki (child) Shigeyuki Totsugi as Gaku Yashiro Yūki Furukawa (Itazura na Kiss, Laughing Under the Clouds, Lychee Light Club) as Satoru Fujinuma (adult) Tomoka Kurotani as Sachiko Fujinuma Noriko Eguchi as Akemi Hinazuki Jin Shirasu (Happy Marriage!?) as Kenya Kobayashi (adult) Hidekazu Mishima as Sawada The series will employ 12 episodes and hopefully release next year. We cannot wait!
